What is it that you enjoy about your job?
It is exciting to receive pieces I've never seen before. Every day I am learning something new,Omega Replica Watches
and this makes me better.
What was your first job?
I received my training in Denmark. I began with scientific instruments and clocks in a museum. We also worked on the Royal Collection, which included watches. After four years of working in the museum, I decided to learn to make these pieces. Since we don't manufacture watches in Denmark I moved to Switzerland to work in a prototype workshop where I built every part of each watch.
Keep antique watches in working order?
The majority of pieces in our museum are in excellent condition. Therefore, patek philippe replica
a large part of my work is to preserve them. The pieces can last a lifetime if they are maintained properly, which means changing the oil regularly and performing the regular maintenance.
How can you tell the age of a piece if it isn't marked?
Certain innovations can tell you the time period of a piece. If it uses a certain technique, then it's dated from that period. The majority of pieces are dated by a watchmaker or case maker. We can also date them by looking at the logo on the precious metal (which changed every year). I've never had a problem determining the age of an item, at least in the last 50 years. Different styles fit certain epochs. |
